First Perpetual Promises of a sodalit in the United States

Denver, 30 (NE - eclesiales.org) On Saturday, October 28th, in Denver, Colorado, the Perpetual Profession of a member of the Sodalitium Christianae Vitae, Renato Sander Quinteiro took place.  The Perpetual Promises of Renato Sander, who was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, 30 years ago, is the first one of a sodalit in the United States.  The intense religious ceremony was held in the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Denver.

The Eucharist was presided over by the Archbishop of Denver, Most Rev. Charles J. Chaput, O. F. M.  Cap.;  several concelebrants and deacons also accompanied the Archbishop in the ceremony.

Among those attending the celebration were the parents of Renato, Leonel and Eliecine, accompanied by members of theSodalitium Christianae Vitae, the Marian Community of Reconciliation and the Christian Life Movement, specially youth and families.

The Archbishop pronounced a beautiful homily on the vocation, focusing on the calling of the apostles Simon and Jude whose feast was celebrated on October 28 in the U.S.  He also made a special reference to the Lord of the Miracles, whose feast was celebrated that same day with great solemnity in Peru, where the Sodalitium was born.  In his formation period in Peruvian lands Renato saw in himself the awakening of the devotion to Lord of the Miracles, and therefore he chose October 28 to make his perpetual commitments.

In his words the Archbishop highlighted the example of following the Lord Jesus that inspires the faithful to commit themselves to the full availability, and the blessing of having the Sodalitium and the Sodalit Family in Denver.  At the end of the Mass, Archbishop Chaput addressed a few moving words which were translated into Portuguese, to Renato's parents.
